Lyrics

There have been times I have felt discouraged
even tho' I knew I had no right to be.
There have been days I felt lost and lonely
with a crowd of people surrounding me.
But times like these don't haunt me anymore
since the day I looked and saw an angel at the door.

So many times I have felt the loner
when no one else believed a word I said.
All torn and twisted, tired and angry,
I felt a beaten man in every way.
My broken dreams lay scattered on the floor
then I looked up and saw an angel at the door.

Then she whispered to me,
Don't you cry ... hold your head high
I am here to rest your heart.
Close your eyes and dream sweet dreams.
Tomorrow comes a better day.

There was a time I thought of angels
as just another silly fantasy.
Someone created, imaginated,
whose true importance I had failed to see.
But I don't think that way anymore
since the day I looked and saw an angel at the door.

So now I'm livin', livin' with my angels.
They are so much more than a dream to me.
The perfect light of love shines from my angels.
To take the path of truth, there lies the key.
This is what I'd been waiting for ...
I want to thank you
for being my angel at the door.
